Both temporal arteries presented with nodular swelling and tenderness. Even though right temporal artery biopsies were negative, a diagnosis of GCA was made in accordance with the American College of Rheumatology's classification criteria for GCA. Three days of methylprednisolone therapy, at a dose of 1000mg, were administered to the patient.
