Atraumatic splenic rupture (ASR) is a rare complication of acute pancreatitis with high mortality and morbidity rates. We present a case of a 63-year-old woman with a history of hypertension, presenting with acute pancreatitis who subsequently developed a splenic rupture requiring a laparotomy and splenectomy.
