Welcome to Journey Info. We've just launched our hotel reviews section and we're being upfront about what this thing is, and what it's not.
What it is - a truly independent look at properties across Mexico, the Caribbean, Thailand, Dubai and Europe, regularly updated (not some dusty old review we're holding onto till the schedule calls for it) by people who've actually done the legwork on these places, and will update their findings when the hotel's standard changes.
What it's not - a booking platform's "editorial" review page just slapping a bunch of aggregated scores together to look all fancy. We're also not just some PR-suckered travel writer who's got a nice free trip and can't bring themselves to write anything negative. And no, we don't just churn out some "average" rating based on 5 years-worth of reviews which might or might not be worth the paper they're printed on.
The idea is simple: star ratings tell you what a hotel wants you to think it is. Our reviews tell you the real story.
