The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the professional training program that prepares experienced divers to become certified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors. The course combines classroom learning, practical workshops, confined water sessions, and open water teaching exercises.

The IDC is designed to help candidates develop the knowledge, teaching techniques, and confidence required to train future scuba divers safely and professionally. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates attend the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), which is conducted by independent PADI examiners.
