Personal Alarms are small electronic devices designed to enhance personal security and facilitate quick assistance in various circumstances. When activated, personal alarms emit a loud and piercing alarm sound which deters potential threats while drawing the attention of nearby community members, giving users time to escape or seek assistance before being activated again. To explore the effectiveness of personal alarms, a research team interviewed 31 fallers who owned and used alarm devices.
