Boca Raton City Council and Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District (GBRBPD) Commissioners recently held a joint workshop to continue discussions on the golf course at Ocean Breeze, 5801 NW 2nd Avenue in Boca Raton. The City has drafted a conceptual offer to undertake programming, design, construction and operation of the golf course on the West side of NW 2nd Avenue including a golf cart storage facility, driving range, maintenance facility and other complementary amenities.

The golf course is located within a beautifully landscaped community of townhomes, villas and single-family homes with stunning lake and golf course views. This allows residents to easily reach Boynton Beach and Wellington for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Park Ridge Golf Course

Park Ridge is a unique golf course that stands out due to dramatic changes in elevation. This county-owned golf course sits on the former Lantana landfill and was built in 2004. It features a links-style layout with six par 3s, six par 4s, and six par 5s. Park Ridge has won numerous engineering and environmental awards and was certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The course is also undergoing $1.7 million worth of work this summer.

The county plans to improve the greens and add new irrigation systems. This will help the fairways stay hydrated and make them easier to play in dry conditions. They will also renovate tees, bunkers, and walkways. The work should take about four months to complete. In addition, the golf club is expected to install a new cart fleet and add a snack bar.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Abacoa golf course is one of South Florida’s most challenging public courses.
