How to Draw Cartoon Food

Step 1

When we work on this cartoon food drawing, we will depict four different types of food. As you can see in the next image, these are a burger, a chicken drumstick, a taco, and a sandwich.

In this first step, we'll start with the first three foods.

The hamburger is the main focus of this arrangement, so let's start with that. You can use a few curved lines for the top and bottom of the bun. Just leave enough room on the right side of the burger.

Then we put a few layers of the burger filling under the bun.

Next, you can draw the taco with a curved line, wavy sauce dripping out, and some filling sticking out at the top. Finally, outline the bread for the sandwich and add some filling on the left.

Step 2

There was a lot to cover in the first step of this how-to-draw cartoon food guide! In this second step, we'll make it a little easier by adding the burger and sandwich.

Again, let's start with the burger. All you have to do is pull the bottom bun underneath. The top bun will still have a large gap, which will be fixed soon.

We'll also add more curved and wavy lines at the top of the sandwich to show off more of the filling. Then go to step 3!

Step 3

This step focuses on adding the remaining side dishes to these four foods! First, we finally finished the burger bun.

Just use a curved line to extend the top of the bun to give it the finishing touch. Then we add the last food; the hip.

This will have a rounded end with wavy, jagged lines where the bone sticks out. Speaking of bones, it's drawn with curved lines with two bumps at the end.

Finally, add the taco base and some more filling to the sandwich for this step.

Step 4

This cartoon food design looks delicious! In this step and the next, we'll focus on adding minor details to bring it all together.

The details we add in this step will be fairly minor, but they will help add some great texture detail to the image.

We'll add three small curved lines down the side for the taco. The sandwich bread will have similar curved lines down the side, as will the burger.

Finally, we added points to the burger bun and the surface of the meat on the thigh. Now that these small details have been added, we can move on to the final details in the next step!

Step 5

We won't draw regular food in this cartoon food drawing guide, but we'll add a fun detail in this step!

We add a smiley face to each food item for a charming touch. These faces will be fairly simple, with two small curved lines for closed eyes and a simple smiling mouth underneath.

For the sandwich and taco, we will add some extra curved lines on the eyes for some lashes.

By adding these cute faces, you can even add more details!

Step 6

Time to add some colors to this image to finish it off in style! In our reference image, we show you one way to colorize it.

While these foods tend to be fairly subtle, we tried to add small, lighter touches of color to smaller details.

During these colors, you can mimic these if you wish; you can use any additional colors you like!

You can also experiment with different artistic tools and mediums to get the colors you have in mind.
