We investigate the effects of interfacial oxidation on the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, magnetic damping, and spin-orbit torques in heavy-metal (Pt)/ferromagnet (Co or NiFe)/capping (MgO/Ta, HfOx, or TaN) structures.
