In comparison with laparoscopic transperitoneal para-aortic lymphadenectomy, the advantages of laparoscopic extraperitoneal para-aortic lymphadenectomy (ePAL) are that the operative field is not obstructed by bowel and the Trendelenburg position is not required [1].
